Spring has finally arrived on Cape Cod and all indications are that the market is beginning to heat up along with the weather. The early part of the year showed mixed results due to the impact of winter storms but, in the end, first quarter totals were on par with 2015. The most notable first quarter trend was the surge in residential sales in the $500,000 to $999,999 price range where sales units are up by 23%. Condominium sales were also strong showing increases in both sales units and average sales price. Moving forward, the Cape is expected to follow national trends and see gains in average sales price in most market segments as listing inventories tighten.
