For Barnstable County real estate a review of the year to date numbers indicate a 6.2% drop in the number of sales but an increase in the average and median sales prices. Also notable is the drop in days on the market for residential sales. These numbers reflect a trend consistent with national real estate results during 2014. Inventory for active single family listings has improved. The luxury market continues to be strong with an increase in the number of sales and a 6% increase in the average sale price. Two thirds of Cape Cod towns saw an increase in their average sale prices this year.
Looking ahead for the remainder of 2014, pending sales remain strong and similar to the numbers in the last two years.
