The 2021 Cape Cod Brew Fest

After a one-year pandemic-related hiatus, the Cape Cod Brew Fest is returning to the Cape Cod Fairgrounds in East Falmouth in 2021.

This one-day festival will take place on September 25th and feature samples from over 50 craft breweries before colder weather arrives in the fall but after many seasonal residents return home.

The result is a wonderful afternoon for all who attend, especially since the beer samples are included in the ticket price.

Here's a look at what you can expect when checking out the 2021 Cape Cod Brew Fest.

The Details

This year marks the ninth edition of the Cape Cod Brew Fest, and it'll be a little different from previous years.

For starters, the entire event will take place outside, rain or shine. In past years, the festival had vendors set up both indoors and outdoors, but staying outside makes it easier to follow CoViD protocols.

The festival starts at 2:00 PM and ends at 5:30. You can check-in starting 30 minutes before the gates open. Keep in mind that this is a 21+ event, so no children are permitted on the grounds, and organizers will check ID at the gate.

You'll need to print your tickets before you arrive or show the barcode on your smartphone. You'll be handed a sampling cup upon arrival that you'll take to each vendor when trying their beer.

Tickets are $50 for early birds, $55 when purchased before the event, and $60 at the gate. The price includes unlimited beer sampling. There are designated driver tickets available for $15 in advance or $20 at the entrance, as well.

A Look at the Breweries

Of course, you're probably wondering about the breweries, and it's a sizable list mostly made up of vendors from the New England area.

Naturally, some Cape Cod breweries are participating, including Cape Cod Beer, Aquatic Brewing, Barnstable Brewing, Naukabout Brewing, and Devil's Purse.

Other breweries from nearby places include:

  • IndieFerm in Plymouth
  • Brockton Beer Company
  • Bone Up Brewing in Everett
  • BearMoose Brewing in Everett
  • Lamplighter Brewing Company in Cambridge

Not to be outdone, Proclamation Ale Company and Grey Sail Brewing are coming in from Rhode Island, while Founders Brewing from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Barrier Brewing from Oceanside, New York, and DuClaw Brewing Company from Rosedale, Maryland will also attend.

And if you aren't sure about some of the craft beers, Samuel Adams will have a table for you to check out.

In addition to beer, you can grab a cider from Down East Cider, a seltzer from Truly Hard Seltzer, or a sour beer from Sour Not Sorry Brewing.

There are non-alcoholic beverages for designated drivers and food trucks on-site if you get hungry along the way.

This festival has options for every beer lover, so make sure you check it out if you're looking for something to do as summer comes to an end.

CoViD-19 Protocols

Like all things in 2021, the Cape Cod Brew Fest will have some CoViD-19 protocols in place to offer protections for attendees and vendors.

They're pretty basic, but here's a quick look at them.

First, masks are mandatory for all unvaccinated guests. However, anyone fully vaccinated against the coronavirus does not have to wear a mask while outdoors. The event will follow these guidelines as put forth by the CDC and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.

But, since this event has food and drinks, unvaccinated guests can remove their masks when they're socially distanced from other people and sampling their beer.

It's also worth noting that while high-risk individuals are permitted to attend, it's strongly recommended that they avoid it because there will be large crowds at the Cape Cod Fairgrounds.

How to Get There

Reaching the Cape Cod Fairgrounds is straightforward, as the facility sits on the Nathan Ellis Highway in East Falmouth. This highway intersects with Route 28 in Mashpee and North Falmouth, making it easy to find. The Fairgrounds are also close to Mashpee Commons and the Frances Crane Wildlife Management Area.

You might find yourself looking for some things to do as summer winds down on the Cape, and the Cape Cod Brew Fest is one event that's worth checking out. Grab your tickets today because you won't come across the opportunity to sample beers from over 50 different breweries in one spot very often.
