Storing Your Boat at Taylor Point Marina in Bourne

There's a lot to like about living in Bourne, Massachusetts, as the town has beaches on Buzzards Bay, dining options near Route 28, hiking in its multiple conservation areas, and marinas providing easy ocean access.

Buying a home in Bourne could also mean living off-Cape, as Sagamore, Bournedale, and the community of Buzzards Bay all sit on the mainland side of the Cape Cod Canal.

Boaters are particularly fond of this off-Cape area because the marinas make it easy to travel the Canal into Cape Cod Bay or head south toward Buzzards Bay and Vineyard Sound.

One of the most convenient marinas in the area is Taylor Point, a full-service facility that's incredibly straightforward for Bourne residents to access.

Here's a look at what you'll experience when renting a slip at Taylor Point Marina in Bourne, Massachusetts' Buzzards Bay neighborhood.

Great Location

The main benefit of keeping your boat at Taylor Point Marina is its location. This facility sits just off Main Street and directly across from Buzzard Bay Park, so it's close to everything. It's also less than three miles from the Bourne Bridge for those arriving from the Cape Cod side of the Canal.

Once you're on the water, you can reach the Cape Cod Canal within minutes, making it easy to hit the open waters in Cape Cod Bay to do some whale watching or fishing. You can also head south into Buzzards Bay or head around the tip of Woods Hole to explore Vineyard Sound.

Other popular places to explore from Taylor Point Marina include Onset, Marion, Wareham, and Mattapoisett, depending on your preferences. There's always a new harbor or beach to check out from the marina, so your summers will be full of adventure when making the facility your home base.

Information on Slips

Of course, you'll want information on the slips available at Taylor Point Marina.

The bad news is that you'll probably have to join a waitlist because the convenience of this location means seasonal rentals fill up fast. There are other marinas in Bourne you can use in the meantime, though, while waiting for a spot to open up.

The marina has 148 slips and can accommodate vessels up to 50 feet in length. There are temporary tie-up spaces and transient moorings and slips available, too, so even if you don't end up with a permanent spot, you could have the chance to use the facility.

Other Amenities

Despite being a relatively simple venue, Taylor Point Marina has some amenities that are worth mentioning.

First, there's a fuel dock, so you never have to worry about running out of gas after a long journey. There are also private bathrooms with showers for those with slips and an on-site marine store carrying all the necessities.

You'll find a boat ramp at the marina, but keep in mind that there's a surcharge to use it. That fee includes vehicle and trailer parking at the marina's sizable parking lot, too.

Nearby Restaurants

After a long day on the water, finding a solid meal might become your next priority. Fortunately, Taylor Point Marina is close to numerous dining options.

One of the more popular eateries in the area is East Wind Lobster and Grille, a seafood takeout counter with picnic-style seating and a covered deck. This restaurant has a dock, as well, so you can pop by in your boat before returning to the marina for the evening.

Another great place to stop for a bite is Captain Al's Tiki Bar, a waterfront seafood restaurant serving all your favorites. Captain Al's Tiki Bar has room for small boats at its docks, or you can make the two-minute drive from the marina.

Lindsey's Family Restaurant in neighboring East Wareham is a hotspot worth checking out, too, thanks to its New England-style cuisine. Once again, you'll mostly find seafood on the menu, but there are other staples for those who want to switch things up.

You'll have countless dining options to sample before, after, or during your boat trips from Taylor Point Marina, making the location incredibly convenient.

Living on the Water

Buying a home on Cape Cod makes it easy to spend your days relaxing on the open water or pulling into a nearby bay to enjoy everything this beautiful part of the country has to offer.

Taylor Point Marina in Bourne's Buzzards Bay community is one of the most conveniently located marinas around because it's minutes from numerous amenities and provides direct access to most of the Cape's major waterways.

If you're looking to relocate to the Cape, get yourself on the waitlist at Taylor Point Marina because the convenience it provides can't be matched anywhere else on the East Coast.
