Chatham, MA – September 6, 2019 – David Doherty, agent at Kinlin Grover Real Estate’s Chatham office, was recently presented with the Ansel Chaplin Award by the Compact of Cape Cod Conservation Trusts, Inc. (CCCCT) at its annual meeting, which was hosted by the Chatham Conservation Foundation, Inc. (CCF) at the Chatham Beach and Tennis Club.

The Ansel B. Chaplin award honors an individual or group that has demonstrated inspirational excellence in the protection of open space on Cape Cod. The award is named after the founder of The Compact of Cape Cod Conservation Trusts, Inc., Ansel B. Chaplin of Truro.

In partnership with the town of Chatham and the CCF, Doherty was instrumental in the acquisition of more than 50 acres of open space for the purpose of preservation.  He also served as CCF President from 2005 - 2012 and has been the longtime Chairman of its Land Acquisition Committee. He now serves as an Honorary Member of its Board of Trustees.

“I humbly accept this award on behalf of everyone at the CCF,” Doherty said. “We are all very fortunate to live and work in a breathtaking setting, and we share the great burden of preserving the beauty of Cape Cod and its land for residents and visitors alike.”

Doherty also received a citation from Massachusetts State Representative Sarah Peake for his conservation work, and will have his name inscribed on a pewter plate displayed at the Hay Conservation Center in Brewster.
