A Membership at the Mid-Cape Athletic Club

Upon moving to Cape Cod, getting to know the local scene will become a top priority.

For starters, you'll have to figure out where to buy groceries near your house, learn which restaurants you like best, and come up with the fastest route to get to and from work.

You might also begin thinking about the various clubs and activities you wish to participate in, including finding a gym to help keep yourself in shape.

One such option in South Yarmouth is the Mid-Cape Athletic Club, a full-service fitness center offering something for everyone.

Here's a look at some of the features you'll find once you visit this hidden gem of a health club on Cape Cod.

The Fitness Center

First and foremost, the Mid-Cape Athletic Club has two free-weight rooms, a cardio center, a spinning room, and an Indo-Row room included with your membership. The facility is over 54,000 square feet in size, providing plenty of space for the equipment you need to keep yourself in outstanding condition.

Other on-site amenities you can use in conjunction with the fitness center include the sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, bar and lounge, and juice bar.

When they say that the Mid-Cape Athletic Club is a full-service facility, they genuinely mean it.

Classes and Personal Training

Like most gyms in the country, the Mid-Cape Athletic Club has classes you can take to make the most of your workouts.

First, there's a personal training option where you'll work one-on-one with a certified trainer. Signing up for some personal training is an excellent first step as you attempt to reach your fitness goals.

The club also has group training where you'll work out with two or three other people and a trainer. This option provides many of the benefits of personal training but is far more economical.

You'll also find group aerobics classes, circuit training, yoga, Zumba, and Pilates classes at the Mid-Cape Athletic Club, so no matter what form of exercise you're into, there's something for you there.

Tennis and Racquetball

While the fitness center is excellent, what sets the Mid-Cape Athletic Club apart from the rest are its tennis and racquetball courts.

The club has tennis classes for adults and juniors on these courts, and there are leagues where you can play multiple times per week. You'll find league options for all skills levels, so whether you're a novice who is just learning or are looking for a more competitive USTA league, this venue has you covered.

Cape Cod's tennis players love the fact that the Mid-Cape Athletic Club has five indoor tennis courts and is adding four additional courts in the near future. Remember that there might be a fee to use the tennis courts, depending on the membership option you select.

As for racquetball, the facility has one indoor court and also runs a RacquetFit program where a trainer will help you maximize your fitness as you learn to play the sport.

Membership Information

There are a few different membership types at the Mid-Cape Athletic Club, which you'll select based on how often you plan to use the facilities.

For those who only plan to use the gym, the basic Club membership is the least expensive option. There's also a Total Club membership for a higher rate that includes free group exercise classes.

Anyone who's joining the club for the tennis might look at a Total Club Plus membership, which includes all the perks of the Total Club plus a lower court fee when playing tennis. There's a Platinum membership, too, which waives court fees and allows for five-day advanced bookings.

Memberships are available on a one-month, six-week, two-month, three-month, four-month, and annual basis, with rates decreasing for more extended contracts. Annual memberships also come with a free consultation with the facility's head trainer.

Where to Find the Club

The Mid-Cape Athletic Club enjoys a convenient location on Whites Path, just off the Mid-Cape Highway in South Yarmouth. It's accessible via Exit 75 in both directions.

This central and easy-to-reach position, along with the club's 6:30 AM to 9:00 PM operating hours, ensures that all Cape residents can use this facility before work, after work, or any other time they choose.

Staying in shape can be challenging, especially if you're moving to a new part of the country and don't know your way around. The Mid-Cape Athletic Club makes it easier by providing the equipment, classes, and other facilities you need to keep the pounds off and ensure you stay healthy while living on Cape Cod.
