The Ridge Club: Life in a Gated Community

Sandwich, Massachusetts, is full of wonderful neighborhoods, but perhaps none are as exclusive as The Ridge Club, which is the community that surrounds the country club of the same name.

The neighborhood is located south of the Mid-Cape Highway, between Lawrence Pond and Long Pond on the eastern side of Sandwich. It's easy to reach The Ridge Club from anywhere on Cape Cod, as it's minutes from surrounding towns like Mashpee and Falmouth, in addition to the village of Hyannis.

If you're looking to experience an exclusive way of living, consider buying a home near The Ridge Club. You won't find many places with this level of privacy on the Cape, which is reason enough to take a peek at the available listings in the area.

About the Community

The area around The Ridge Club features roughly 200 residential properties that line the golf course's fairways. There are other homes away from the course, as well, if you'd prefer a bit of distance between your house and flying golf balls.

This community is special because every home is different. The Ridge Club isn't a cookie-cutter golf course community where every house looks the same, as there are various styles and sizes of homes available.

Do you want a swimming pool? There are some options.

Are you looking for a large deck? The Ridge Club has that, too.

Want a multi-story home? You'll find it here.

There's a little bit of everything in this neighborhood, with the caveat being that most homes are large and luxurious, fitting in with the country club theme.

If you're looking to downsize, there are a few condos in Reflection Village, as well. These condos have two or three bedrooms and are lower maintenance than the area's houses. You'll find that homes here tend to have large yards, and locals put a lot of effort into keeping them well-groomed.

Access to The Ridge Club is restricted by a gate, and personnel will only let residents, members, and their guests into the community. The entrance, which sits on Country Club Road, provides additional security by preventing the general public from wandering through the neighborhood.

Playing the Golf Course

A benefit of living in this area is that you'll be close to The Ridge Club golf course, one of the Cape's best. The championship-level course is a par 71 and 6,657 yards from the gold tees, 5,854 yards from the whites, and 4,840 yards from the reds.

Overall, the course is challenging but is kept in excellent shape and provides a wonderful way to spend a day on Cape Cod.

Many locals buy golf carts to cruise the neighborhood, which they can then take directly to the course when it's time to hit the links.

Relaxing in the Clubhouse

A membership at the course also means having access to the clubhouse. You can pick-up a clubhouse-only membership, too, if you're interested in the social aspect of living near a country club but don't want to golf.

The clubhouse area has a fine-dining restaurant, in addition to a more casual option, and there's a bar area if you'd like to head over for a couple of drinks.

In the summer, the country club has two tennis courts with instructors providing lessons. The club also organizes tournaments at various times and offers clinics if you'd like to work on your game in a group setting.

There's even a heated outdoor swimming pool to enjoy at The Ridge Club. The pool is open between Memorial Day and Labor Day, offering a relaxing place to hang out with friends and family. There are designated change rooms in the pool area, along with a snack bar where you can grab a quick lunch.

Weddings and Other Events

Are you planning a large-scale event on Cape Cod? The Ridge Club might be an option, as there's a small private room that can accommodate 15 to 20 people, a larger room for up to 60 guests, and a pavilion that can hold as many as 200 attendees.

You can arrange for catering for your event directly through the club, ensuring that everything runs smoothly. Once you live in the area, you'll find it incredibly easy to book birthday parties and other family gatherings at the venue.

Experience Country Club Living

If you've ever dreamed of being a member at an exclusive country club, it's worth looking into a membership at The Ridge Club. And as a bonus, you can live within the Sandwich-based club's gates, putting you minutes from all of its amenities.

Many people who invest in country club memberships love the concept but don't like having to drive across town every time they want to visit. Living in The Ridge Club's gated community eliminates this additional step, leaving you free to enjoy the amenities of one of the Cape's top private clubs just minutes from your doorstep.
